This is where to tell us that something is factually wrong, that your rights have been infringed, or that a page is broken. There is a single channel, reachable at the email address below. Copyright takedown requests and data subject rights requests come to the same place.

Sending a copyright or takedown request

A request may be sent by the right holder or by a duly authorised agent. We begin verification within 24 hours of receipt, and where infringement is confirmed we remove or amend the material and write back with the outcome.

Including the following four things lets verification start immediately.

  • The address of the page concerned — which screen, and what on it. List all of them if several are affected.
  • Which right is infringed and in what way — the right relied on, and the part you consider infringing.
  • Contact details for our reply.
  • If you are acting as an agent, that fact and the basis of your authority.

One thing to state in advance: this site does not reproduce excerpts of studio announcements, and every sentence on screen is written by us. Game artwork, video and store descriptions are neither stored nor displayed, and readers who need the original are sent to the official notice.

If you nonetheless consider that a right of yours is infringed, please tell us. The policy above is the standard we hold ourselves to, not the end of the question.

What to include

Three things that speed up verification. Your message is accepted without them, but if we cannot identify what you mean we have to write back and ask, which takes longer.

  • The address of the page concerned — which screen, and what on it. List several if more than one is affected.
  • What is wrong and in what way — the fastest form is: it currently says this, but in fact it is that. For a copyright request, state the right on which the request is based.
  • An email address for our reply. If you do not need a reply, say so.

The email address you send from, and the contents of your message, are destroyed one year after we finish replying. Article 3 of the Privacy Policy sets this out in full.

What happens next

We work through messages in the order they arrive, except that copyright takedown requests and data subject rights requests are looked at first. For those two we begin verification within 24 hours of receipt.

  • Verify — we find the page you identified and check whether what you describe is correct.
  • Act — where a fact is wrong we correct it; where infringement is confirmed we remove or amend the material.
  • Reply — we tell you what we did. If we decided to take no action, we say why.
  • Publish — where a factual correction changed the content, we record it in our correction history, because what changed, when and why should be visible to anyone.

What we changed, when and why is recorded in our correction history as a monthly tally. Which individual pages were corrected is not disclosed: if some pages carried a marker and others did not, readers would judge accuracy by the presence of the marker.

If no reply arrives, check your spam folder first — replies are sometimes filtered automatically. If three days pass with no word at all, simply write again to the same address; the message may not have reached us.

What you send is not stored in a database; it stays in the Operator email account only. There is therefore no screen where you can look up the status of a request by reference number. We report progress by reply alone.
